RARE FIND 1936 Jefferson in Power by Claude G. Bowers This appears to be a 1st Edition ©1936, by Claude G. Powers and published in 1936 by Houghton Mifflin Co. Jefferson in Power: "The Death Struggle of the Federalists" is a wonderfully written drama surrounding the Jefferson years and this (511) page book has many illustrations, cartoons, and portraits to accompany it! There are (25) additional pages for the bibliography(two pages torn on page edge from handling) and index. The Frontispiece is expertly done and from a life mask of Jefferson by Browere. BOOK CONDITION: Very GOOD! Tight spine and binding hardcover, minimal wear on spine, edges and front/back covers of book. Pages are aged in appearance on edges with some smudges on a few pages from handling. Previous owner signed name on end front blank page just before the title page.
